Your Weakness… His Strength

You may have heard of Nick Vujicic. His story is quite inspiring, to say the least. Nick was born without arms or legs, yet he can write, “I am truly blessed. I am ridiculously happy.” (Nick Vujicic, Life without Limits, Waterbrook , 2012, p.21) Though he prayed for many years for God to give him arms and legs, God did not answer ‘yes’ to that prayer. However, his “weakness” has provided a showcase for the strength and power and grace of God to be seen. God has used him to reach people in countless schools, churches, prisons, stadiums, and rallys. A couple of years ago, there was an astonishing revival in Ukraine through his preaching, where reportedly 400,000 came to Christ!

We worship a God who specializes in using our “weakness” to showcase his grace and power. The apostle Paul who had a weakness he called his “thorn in his flesh.” Three times he pleaded with God to remove it, but God said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Paul’s weakness provided an ocassion for God’s strength to be manifested to him, in him, and through him. That is why Paul went on to say: “That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:10)

Do you feel weak today in some area? It can be the occassion for God’s strength, grace, and power to fill you afresh. Ask Him. Invite Him to do so.
